READY FOR YOUR SENIOR PORTRAITS?

Here are a few important tips to consider to help prepare you for success. In most instances, the timeline can be worked around, so don't worry if you feel like you have missed the time frame.

• Junior Year is the best time to start researching senior photographers near your area. There are different price points, packages and styles to consider. It's important to find a photographer that meets your budget, vision and someone you are comfortable working with. There are many photographers out there that take great photos but not all with make you feel comfortable or will match your style. It's ok to be picky.

• Consider the season you want your senior pictures taken in.  Book your session 3-6 months before this season. Some photographers can work you in within a few days or weeks, however some are booked months in advance. To ensure your photoshoot doesn't feel rushed, start the planning process with your photographer once you have chosen one.

• Hair and Makeup Services. It's important to book these services at the same time as booking your photographer. Make sure you are picky with you hair and makeup artist as well. You will want to make sure they can deliver on the look you are wanting and know how to get you photo ready.

• Skincare routine, if you currently don't have one, would benefit from being started 3 months (or more) prior to your photoshoot. Setting this habit in place will help with clear glowing skin before your session.

•  Clothes/Outfits can be planned out 1 to 1 1/2 months in advance to give you time to order anything you may not have in your closet or accessories that you may want. You will want everything in hand and tried on 2 weeks prior to ensure that you look your outfits.

• Hair would be best cut 1-2 weeks before your photoshoot (depending on how fast your hair grows). Avoid any drastic changes to your look before you photos. Keep your look true to yourself.

• Makeup looks can be practiced around a week or two before your pictures. Avoid using new products in case you have a negative reaction.

• Nails can be done 2-3 days before your senior photoshoot so they look clean and fresh the day of your pictures.
